Standards-based Experiential Learning
Experiential learning is an engaged learning process whereby students “learn by doing” and by reflecting on the experience. All NESS lessons support positive social-emotional learning and academic outcomes; by its very nature, experiential learning lends itself to developing SEL skills. NESS’s highly committed educators work to generate a love of learning and student agency that aids students in their classroom studies and lifelong learning. In November 2018, NESS became the first and only school partner program to be accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). NEASC partners with schools to assess, support, and promote high-quality education for all students through accreditation, professional assistance, and the pursuit of best practices.
