The NESS program for professional development is designed for teachers interested in delivering NGSS practices and Ocean Literacy curriculum into their lessons. Our graduate-level education courses earn you professional development hours.

Increase academic engagement in your classroom! Participate in a variety of experiential STEM activities and develop skills on how to incorporate NGSS practices and the Ocean Literacy curriculum in your lessons. NESS offers professional development opportunities throughout the year at NESS or at your school.
Collaborate with other teachers in a project-based, graduate-level guided exploration of cutting-edge tools and techniques to develop student SEL skills through experiential learning.

Join NESS for a dynamic, hands-on professional development experience where science meets the sea. Dive into the ecological and historical importance of oysters in Long Island Sound through:
- A boat-based exploration of the coastline and what factors make the Long Island Sound a perfect oyster habitat
