What We Do At NESS Works
NESS offers a unique accredited and standards-based education model that empowers students with skills to impact academic outcomes. Our STEM-based curriculum includes marine science, sailing, power boating, and adventure sports as experiential learning platforms, on and off the water, for all students.
NESS’s award-winning experiential learning programs have helped tens of thousands of students encourage and increase:
- Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
- Personal discovery, empowerment, and learning mindsets
- Confidence, communication, teamwork, perseverance, self-control, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Connections between students, their communities, and a sustainable natural environment


NESS Works with Educators and Schools
NESS works with educators and schools to customize classroom, field, homeschool, and after-school programs that help all Pre-K-12 students and complement existing coursework. Developing lessons, applying course concepts, designing and implementing student learning assessment tools, and applying experiential learning elements throughout the teaching practice provides students with:
- Innovative, hands-on STEM learning
- Social-emotional skill development
- On-the-water and classroom-based exploration
- Experiential methods, including problem-based and place-based learning
- Experiential learning methods such as problem-based learning, place-based learning, and active learning
