What a Year!

Dear Friends of NESS,   As we come to the close of one of the most exciting years in our history, I want to take a moment to say thank you for your support. From our parents who entrust us with their children, to our school partners where we are collectively shaping education, to our donors whose support keeps NESS going, to our community at large who have embraced our mission, and, finally, to our students whose drive for learning makes us a very special organization…thank you all!

The highlight of our year was becoming accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC). This accreditation is a major milestone for NESS. NEASC is the oldest accreditation agency in the country and accredits most of the colleges and independent schools in New England. We are the first school partner program to become accredited which reflects the quality of our curriculum and outcomes. Here is one excerpt from their final report on NESS:

“Most importantly, NESS clearly demonstrates the strength – and singular importance – of its mission. NESS makes a difference in the lives of the young people it nurtures – sometimes a life-changing difference and sometimes a simple moment of self-confidence gained. We had a distinct sense the people who make NESS what it is regard this opportunity as a genuine and rare privilege. Their commitment will continue to strengthen this exceptional program.”

Speaking on behalf of the entire NESS team, we are excited for 2019! We will continue to provide opportunities for students to thrive outside the traditional classroom and access to the ocean for students from all walks of life. As always, program quality will be our priority throughout the upcoming year as we teach STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and valuable life skills through water-based platforms.

From all of us at NESS, we wish you, your family, and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
