Gear Up! Camp Essentials!
We can’t believe summer is already here and we are so excited that your family has chosen NESS for your ocean adventure education activities!
Here is a list of all the essentials your camper will need for their week with NESS!
Paperwork and Medications
- Students and their parents/guardians must provide a Health Exam Form no less than one week prior to the start of program
- Any student who brings medication such as an Epi-Pen or inhaler, must also provide the completed NESS Authorization for Administration of Medicine form
- Please let us know if your child has any special needs or is anxious for program

Gear:
NESS provides all gear needed for class (except for footwear and clothing), but a personal life jacket, wetsuit, and snorkel are encouraged for comfort and best fit
What to Bring
- Bathing Suit
- Closed-toed water shoes
- Sunscreen (please apply before arriving)
- USCG Type III Life Jacket
- Reusable water bottle
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Towel
- Dry shoes and change of clothes
- Sailing students only: pea-less safety whistle
- Little Aquanauts & Bay Bounders only: pack a peanut-free snack
- For campers with a morning and afternoon session: please pack a lunch or you may order lunch through Indulge Coffee Shop at least 24 hours in advance
What Not to Bring
- No jeans
- No pants or shorts with rivets
- No cotton clothing
- No valuables
- No electronic devices
- No open toed shoes
What About Weather?
- Camp is held rain, shine, wind, or no wind!
- We will limit on-the-water activity, if we deem it unsafe, and will have indoor level-appropriate activities planned
- Weather will dictate how much time outdoors each class will have
- Sometimes we will take students out in the rain, so please dress according to the weather forecast
Drop Off & Pick Up
- Camp begins promptly at 9 AM and 1 PM! Please arrive before 9:20 at the latest
- Please drop off campers curbside between 72 & 70 Water Street
- You must sign your child in and out of camp each day, unless you have given permission for them to sign themselves out
- Bring Photo ID
- Parking is available on the street or in the three public parking lots in the Borough
- Town Dock
- Wayland’s Wharf
- duBois Beach
- Please drop off campers on time and be sure they have everything they need for class each day
- Late pick-ups will be charged accordingly
