Press Release: NESS Expands Its Accessible Sailing Offerings
STONINGTON, CT. The New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) is expanding their accessible sailing offerings for the community. NESS is hosting a free Acessible Sailing Demo Day in Stonington on May 19 and just opened registration. No experience is needed, but spots are limited and registration is required! With the right equipment, adaptive sailing is a great sport in which sailors of all abilities can participate together. In 2017, in collaboration with Sail To Prevail, NESS launched its accessible sailing program in Stonington, CT. As a US Sailing recognized Community Sailing Center, NESS offers the highest standard of quality instruction and facilities. NESS’s adaptive sailing program brings the fun and therapeutic qualities of sailing to individuals with diverse needs.
Accessible Sailing lessons are available at NESS’s Stonington location Wednesday through Friday from 10am to 12pm or 1pm to 3pm and on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. Lessons are $150/session, scholarships are available.
NESS is an ocean adventure nonprofit that provides STEM-based education programs, on and off the water, for students from all walks of life.
