  • 2017 Summer Program Registration Opens February 1st

    We will open our registration for 2017 Summer Programs on Wednesday, February 1. NESS summer programs run Mondays through Fridays for 9 weeks (June 26 – August 25, 2017). The half-day and full-day programs are open to students ages 4-17 and located in Stonington, CT and Westerly, RI.

  • Event offers surf comp experience to juniors under age of 17

    The surf gods treated ESA competitors to a second weekend of decent waves, as Hurricane Julia pushed up just enough swell from the Carolinas, to give the annual “Catch A Curl” contest a waist high swell at the Westerly Town Beach, in Rhode Island.

  • 2016 Long Island Sound Calendar Contest Winners Announced!

    NESS announced this year’s winning artists for the statewide calendar drawing contest entitled “Long Island Sound and Its Watershed: What It Means to Me.” The annual drawing contest is open to all Connecticut students currently in Grades K-6. Maya Terwilliger of Deans Mill Elementary School was named the overall winner. Her artwork will be featured on the cover of next year’s calendar.

  • Students Build Ecobrick Bench at Ocean Beach Park

    Under the guidance of New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS), the seventh grade LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) students at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School (BDJMS) culminated a semester-long project with the construction of an Eco-Brick Bench at Ocean Beach Park.
